Just a quick entry today to mention the new Tip Jar feature Vimeo has added for Plus and Pro members. Basically, it seems that we will be able to add a process for viewers to ‘tip’ us money for video we upload. And apparently, they are also going to roll out the ability to have a Pay-To-View mechanism for content sometime soon.
While it wouldn’t really be applicable to me as an editor, this could be a very simple and effective way for video bloggers and filmmakers to be able to provide premium content without needing to go through the hassle of figuring it out through their own website. Of course, I’ll have to withhold judgment until I see it, but this is pretty exciting stuff.
